Olson Visual is proud to have worked on the Academy Award nominated films including Joy, Everest, Mad Max, The Martian, Steve Jobs, Straight Outta Compton, and The Danish Girl. On February 29th, the ceremony took place at the Dolby Theatre. Some went home empty handed while others won numerous golds. One in particular was the science fiction film, Mad Max Fury Road which took home five Academy Awards including best: Production Design, Sound Mixing, Production Design, Sound Editing, Costume Design, and Makeup. Alicia Vikander took the gold home for her work in The Danish Girl. The Martian was nominated for Production Design, Visual Effects, Sound Mixing and Editing but went home empty handed. Sicario was nominated for Cinematography but lost to Revenant. Straight Outta Compton was a contender for Best Original Screenplay but instead the film Spotlight won which also won for Best Picture.

They also installed several marquees and gigantic banner for the film Everest at the infamous Grauman’s Chinese Theater. Olson Visual also created a mural for the true story Straight Outta Compton and a marquee of Mad Max.
